California Lake Lounger

Visiting family in California and got to spend a day on the lake.  Sam even got to captain the vessel a bit.  Matt attempted to wakeboard, but his streak of staying in the water remains intact.  In addition to tubing, there was some fun swimming time as well.

  

  

 

Intrepid Explorer

Sam has been interested in visiting the Intrepid Aircraft Carrier/Sea, Air, and Space Museum for months.  Unfortunately, he didn't meet the height requirement to go aboard the submarine, but he enjoyed visiting the retired aircraft, carrier, space shuttle, and some interactive displays.

Day of High Culture

Last Saturday we went high brow, with a family visit to the American Museum of Natural History and dining alfresco at Bella Luna in the Upper West Side for dinner.  The next day, Sam and Sheyna explored the creative arts attending a concert in the park that featured instruments made from recycled objects (Sam made a bugle/shofar).

  

 

 

Literature Lunch

Last week we had our first "literature lunch," featuring the literary character Sam was named for (not really).  When we made scrambled eggs for breakfast on Tuesday, Sam insisted we use food coloring again.
