Last Day of PreK

Tuesday, June 28 marked Sam's final day of full-time PreK at Play Together NYC. He had a great year of making new friends (he went from having 4 kids in his preschool "class" to 15), developing stamina (bye-bye daily naps), learning (ABCs, 123s, and more potty-talk than we ever knew was possible), growing (he must be at least 2 inches taller than in early September), and maturing (he remains one of the sweetest, most caring humans on the planet, but he is also developing a tiny bit of a sneaky side).
We are SO proud of him, who he continues to become, and look forward to seeing him as he goes and grows.
BEFORE SCHOOL

THE SCHOOL IS IN THE BASEMENT OF THIS SYNAGOGUE ON W. 84TH ST.

THE CEREMONY PROCESSION

THE GRADUATION SPEAKERS (DIRECTOR, seated, & HEAD TEACHER)
SAM RECEIVING HIS PRE-K "DIPLOMA" (He picked his moment on "stage" to get a bit bashful, so they came to him.)

THE CEREMONIAL THROWING OF THE HATS! (They have a bit of time to master this before it counts.)
THE FEAST! (JUNK FOOD & JUICE GALORE!!)
WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU GIVE A GREMLIN JUNK FOOD AND JUICE...
SAM'S TWO PRIMARY TEACHERS. KUDOS ON A JOB WELL DONE!

HEADED HOME TO START "SUMMER."

"I WANT A PLAY DATE!" "I MISS MY FRIENDS!"
OPENING HIS GRADUATION PRESENT (several pounds of Legos from ebay)

On such days, the immortal words of Alice Cooper always seem fitting, with one exception. "Forever" for Sam means only 72 days until he marches the 2.5 blocks to PS 166 and begins his next school chapter. And he is already looking forward to it.

Ummmm... to say this blog has been neglected would be more than just a bit of an understatement, however, maybe this is a turning point.
