Matt thought it might be cool to witness one of these "ticker-tape" parades and they had watched some of the matches, so Matt thought Sam might get something out it as well. Based on his chanting, Matt thinks he did, but he also got an earful before and after about how Sam really wanted to be spending his time at the playground. Matt said it was cool to celebrate the accomplishment of the team, but was underwhelmed by the relatively low volume of "ticker-tape," of course, less paper confetti on the streets might mean more went in the paper recycling stream, so no real complaints from Matt on that front.
