1st Great Minnesota Get Together

While Sheyna was getting in her twenty mile run, Sam and Matt joined friends at the MN State Fair on a lovely Saturday morning.  Highlights included the Little Farm Hands Interactive Experience, climbing aboard and "driving" different construction trucks (I had to talk Sam out of signing up for a lease on a mini excavator),petting a newborn piglet in the Miracle of Life Birthing Center, jamming to the Okie Dokie Brothers in concert (they had a banjo, guitar, upright bass, and fiddle on stage), the sea of humanity, and of course, the food!  Not only did Sammy have some food on a stick (of course), but he got ice cream not once, but twice!  What a day!

Catch Up Day

So, after a good start to the summer, Matt admits to slacking off with his Gamawitz Blog posting duties... With less than two days until he reports back to work, Matt finally got around to updating the blog.  Enjoy!

“I Want to Ride My Bicycle…”

Event Date: June-August, 2013 - Sam logged some miles this summer on non-motorized wheels.  This took three forms primarily:

1)      He “pedaled” (with adults steering and pushing from behind) his tricycle all over the neighborhood almost daily on walks with Switzerland.

2)      He scooted around on the balance bike he got for his birthday (this one has seen that has seen the least action, because it is still less than two weeks old).   

3)      He was hauled around in a bicycle trailer endlessly by his father.  Commuting to and from everywhere within a ten mile radius, as long as the weather was favorable, which it usually was.  Matt estimated that Sammy logged somewhere around 130 miles in the bike trailer, and he was such a trooper, much of it was accompanied by song.

Party Time!

Event Date: August 18, 2013 - With five days of being two under his belt, and some experience partying with his three-year-old mentor Rafi, the evening before at his grandparent's pool, Sam felt prepared to invite his nearest and dearest toddler friends over for a proper celebration, and what better way than with music class and a truck party!

Event Date: August 14, 2013 - After two years, finally Sam got freedom from the confining bars of the crib—toddler bed, we have arrived.
Hey, wait a minute, it's nap time, come back!

Sammy Turns 2!

Event Date: August 13, 2013 - Truck pancakes, presents, celebrating at school with friends, playing at the playground, chatting with Nona for more than 20 minutes while commuting in the bike trailer, napping, and a cake to share with Mommy and Daddy... what more does a two year old need?
