Sam and Matt had a busy few days recently. Too busy to document with pictures apparently.
Thursday, 2/5: Subway to downtown to catch a special performance at the NMAI by Sam's favorite Caribbean performer, Irka Mateo. After that, we swung by the old apartment near Wall St. to see if Sam's favorite doorman was on shift (strike out). Sam suggested we skip our bagged lunch in favor of a lamb gyro from a Halal street cart (Matt was so proud). We checked out the ships at the South Street Seaport, then did some ice skating at the local (mini) rink near the Seaport. We hopped on the subway to head uptown to arrive at his 3:15 music class just in time. Sufficed to say, there was no nap, but he did pretty good.
Friday, 2/6: Shababa music class and visiting with our UES friends, including a costume swap: Sam swapped his giraffe costume for a Queen Elsa costume for a week (pictures to come for sure).
Saturday, 2/7: Headed to midtown for ice skating at Bryant Park. Then a visit to the Children's Center at the main branch of the NY Public Library for a story hour and a mass book check-out. After that we picnicked overlooking Rockefeller Center and walked by Radio City Music Hall before catching the subway home. Sounds like we must be ready for a quiet Saturday night in, right? Well, we're going to see if the snow softened up enough to do a bit of cross country skiing (Sam) in Central Park before dinner. We'll see.
